SpamAware

Everyone owning an email address knows these annoying mails you receive. The number of spam mails running around is continuously increasing so everyone has to spend more time on sorting out good mails from spam. Don't waste time on this let SpamAware do it for you! SpamAware is a plugin for Ms-Outlook. It uses SpamAssassin to score new incomming mails and decides based on the settings made in options what to do with the mail. It contacts through SpamAssassin several spam-server to be more efficient. The application is completely functional after installation and gets automatically active on new mails. It supports Black- and Whitelist filtering and is able to automatically add all your Outlook contacts and add recipients of mails you write to the Whitelist.

InstallSpy

This is not spyware, but a program to help you discover spyware! Track any and all changes to the registry and file system, and also record all shell notification events (e.g. media inserted), when a program is installed, uninstalled, or run. This can warn you of programs trying to install new services, programs that are set to run on reboot, changes to your home page, etc. It's a highly configurable program that allows you to catch any change to your system. Filtering lets you zoom down to the details that are most important to you.

xp-AntiSpy

XP-AntiSpy is a little utility that lets you disable some built-in update and authentication 'features' in WindowsXP. For example, there's a service running in the background which is called 'Automatic Updates'. I don't know what this service transfers from my machine to other machines on the internet, especially the MS ones. So I play it safe and disable such functions. If you like, you can even disable these functions manually, by going through the System and checking or unchecking some checkboxes. This will take you approximately half an hour. But why wast time when a little neat utility can do the same in 1 minute? This utility was successfully tested by lots of users, and was found to disable all the known 'Suspicious' Functions in WindowsXP. It's customiseable, but comes up with the Default settings, which are recommended.

SpywareBlaster

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed. By setting a "kill bit" for spyware ActiveX controls, SpywareBlaster can prevent the installation of any spyware ActiveX controls from a webpage. It does this while not interfering with "friendly" ActiveX controls - so your browser can work correctly and you can have peace of mind!
