VirtualDub

VirtualDub is a terrific pre- and post-processor that works as a valuable companion to any video editor: Reads and writes AVI2 (Open DML) and multi-segment AVI clips. Integrated MPEG-1 and Motion-JPEG decoders. Remove and replace audio tracks without touching the video. Extensive video filter set, including blur, sharpen, emboss, smooth, 3x3 convolution, flip, resize rotate, brightness/contrast, levels, deinterlace, and threshold. Bilinear and bicubic re-sampling -- no blocky resizes or rotates here. Decompress and recompress both audio and video. Remove segments of a video clip and save the rest, without recompressing. Adjust frame rate, decimate frames, and 3:2 pull-down removal. Preview the results, with live audio.

EmAvi

EmAvi is software to edit the frames of AVI animation files. Text, shapes and lines can be added to the frames of the animation. The thickness of lines can be changed and shapes can be filled with color. The font and color of text can be changed as well as the color of shapes. EmAvi can be used to conveniently add text, such as a company's URL and/or copyright to AVI animation files. Another idea is to use it to add arrows to the frames of animation files to direct the viewer's attention. You can then compress and save the changes using EmAvi.

AviSplit Classic

AviSplit is an application for cutting and rejoining AVI/DivX files. Avisplit can split a large AVI file into more convenient pieces (you set the size), rejoin those pieces or extract a clip with a specified starting and ending point. Whether pieces or a clip, Avisplit output can be viewed in any standard player, and when the pieces are recombined, the result is exactly the same as the original. Whether splitting, rejoining or clipping, AviSplit is very fast as no data processing is involved (lossless). Generally, using Avisplit is about as fast as copying the file itself! AviTricks Video Editor Classic

AviTricks is a non-linear, non-destructive AVI video editor with real-time preview. It makes cutting and joining footage easy and includes a wide range of built-in adjustable effects that can be used separately or in combination. (Effects include dissolves, mirror image, sepia, iris effects, fades, TV-shop and many more.) Besides the preview screen, the video you are working on is also represented clearly and graphically on a timeline and a tree-structure. Both of these fields are active and easy to work. The tree-structure and sub-project approach allows an unlimited combination of filters, effects and overlays, and will also make it easy to stack new properties (things like morphing and opaque overlays) into existing effects as these become available. You can split large projects into workable units that can be combined at will or farmed out to different users for a joint venture. Video and audio tracks are represented individually on the timeline, as are filters, overlays, effects and transitions. The intensity of the different properties of all these different features can be adjusted gradually with a rubber-band interface that enlarges when activated. The duration and position of all elements can be adjusted with a click of the mouse. Even video-editing novices can use AviTricks to produce professional results in either .AVI or Windows Media Format.
